The GOAT is Returning: Elden Ring 2, Elder Scrolls 6, Starfield Face the Threat of 'Red Dead Redemption 3' - Take-Two CEO Says: "It'll keep going"

The critically acclaimed Red Dead Redemption saga started way back in 2010 and soon became one of the best franchises to ever come from Rockstar Games. There have only been two games in the series and both have delivered immersive gameplay and narratives and garnered positive reviews from both fans and critics. There are many upcoming heavyweight titles from major companies that are in development and some are gearing up to release, but these games have maintained their hype among gamers.

Strauss Zelnick Confirms Red Dead Redemption 3

Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, spoke at the Jefferies Virtual Global Interactive Entertainment Conference and hinted at Red Dead Redemption 3. He confirmed that the company will keep bringing new games to its main franchises for many coming years as these are the games that have the potential to succeed for many decades. Strauss Zelnick further stated:

“If it’s really great, it will keep going. There are precious few entertainment franchises of any sort that fall into that category, but they do exist. I think Red Dead is one of them.”

It Could Be a While Before Red Dead Redemption 3 Hits the Shelves

CEO Strauss Zelnick said that the company’s main game franchises such as Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto are the same as James Bond movies and they need to keep bringing new things until the audience no longer wants it and they don’t make profits. But he also added that these franchises should be carefully handled and given a rest so people are not just accustomed to it because of their frequency and they eventually lose their value. He said:

“It also requires you to be thoughtful and willing to rest the titles, so you have a sense of, ‘wow, this is a rare event.” I’ve always said that annualizing non-sports titles runs the risk of burning out the intellectual property, even if it’s good. So we take the time to make something we think is incredibly phenomenal, and we also rest titles intentionally so that there’s pent-up demand for that title, so it’s a special event.”
