Aquaman 2 Isn’t Meant To Focus On Amber Heard’s Character Reveals James Wan

It has been 5 years since Aquaman has earned more than $1 billion at the global box office and the DC fans have always wondered what the sequel, Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom would look like. Recently in an interview with EW  James Wan did reveal how the sequel would be different from the 1st part of Aquaman. The 46-year-old Filmmaker said.

“The first Aquaman was Arthur and Mera’s journey. The second movie was always going to be Arthur and Orm. So, the first was a romance action-adventure movie, the second one is a bromance action-adventure movie. We’ll leave it at that.”

It explains how the sequel will be different from that of the first part of Aquaman and how it was always the plan, and it hasn’t changed. The first part was indeed a romance action adventure, but the sequel will be about a bromance action adventure.

The famous Conjuring star, Patrick Wilson who played the role of Ocean Master in Aquaman will reprise his role in the sequel as well. Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom will focus on Aquaman played by Jason Momoa and his half-brother Orm played by Patrick Wilson and not on Mera played by Amber Heard.

However, Amber Heard cited during her testimony as reported by EW that her role was “Parred down” due to the “smear campaign” of her ex-husband, Johnny Depp. She said in the testimony.

“I was given a script and then given new versions of the script that had taken away scenes that had action in it, that depicted my character and another character, without giving any spoilers away, two characters fighting with one another, and they basically took a bunch out of my role,” Heard testified. “They just removed a bunch out.”

The 37-year-old Hollywood actress even said that Warner Bros didn’t want to include her because of the Infamous Depp vs. Heard trial that lasted for months. The trial was so influential that it even gained the national media’s attention and according to Amber Heard, it has Jeopardized her role in the upcoming Aquaman sequel.

However, James Wan denied in response that the trial had nothing to do with the script of the film and it was always meant to be like this. Though the reshoots due to the arrival of James Gunn and Peter Safran might have delayed the film in post-production, it doesn’t change the fact it is still getting made how it was supposed to be.
