Many stars have found it difficult to find love in the entertainment industry. But amid most of the typical Hollywood breakup stories, Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander may have discovered the right formula for long-lasting happiness.
Late in 2014, The Danish Girl actress started dating the 300 star, whom she had met while they were both working on the movie, The Light Between Oceans. They discovered their own unique chemistry while trying to faithfully depict the love between their characters Tom and Isabelle. This chemistry ultimately led to true love.
The two soon began dating, and despite having previously been in other public relationships, they continue to keep a tight privacy bubble around their private lives. Additionally, they even had a private wedding ceremony on October 14, 2017, in Ibiza.
With no intention of leveraging their fame, Fassbender and Vikander strive to live their married life as ordinarily as they can.

The actress gave Harper’s Bazaar a rare look into the Hollywood couple’s parenting styles (last year), despite the fact that the name and gender of their child are still unknown to the public. The actress, 34, disclosed:
“In my little family, with my husband and my child, we travel together, always. That’s the rule. We do jobs so one of us can always be with the baby.”
This was a significant change for Vikander. The Tomb Raider actress confirmed the birth of her child to PEOPLE in 2021 but chose not to go into further detail about how it affected her lifestyle.
“I think I’ll wait with that one.”
She then offered only a couple of sentences:
“I now have a whole new understanding of life in general. That’s pretty beautiful, and obviously will give a lot to any of my work in the future.”
No matter how private Vikander keeps her life, the Swedish actress has always wanted to have kids. In 2017, she revealed to Elle:
“It’s the wonder of my world. I hope to have a family one day. And it’s both the expectation and knowing that it should be the greatest experience of my life — and suddenly from one day to another, it’s a reality; it’s a new chapter of your life.”

While collaborating on Derek Cianfrance’s 2016 romantic drama, The Light Between Oceans, Alicia Vikander and Michael Fassbender met and fell in love in 2014. The extremely private couple married in Ibiza in October 2017 following a top-secret engagement. She spoke with Vogue a few weeks after the wedding:
“It’s not about being secretive. It’s just about choosing the few things that you keep private.”
Previously, Fassbender dismissed the pair’s reputation for secrecy, claiming he knew how to avoid questions about his romantic life. The X-Men: First Class actor stated to Good Morning Britain in 2016:
“It’s not really difficult. I just answer what I choose to answer and don’t answer other things.”
Additionally, the actress has not ruled out working with Fassbender once again on screen, provided the role fits with her new family priorities. She spoke with Elle in 2020:
“I would love to work with him one day, but we’re very much individuals, which I love and I think is good in any relationship. We both take on parts because it’s a film that is right for us, so it would have to be the same if we were ever to work together again.”
The Oscar-winning actress most recently appeared in the Karim Anouz-directed British historical drama film Firebrand. The movie had its premiere on May 21, 2023, at the 76th Cannes Film Festival, where it was chosen to compete for the Palme d’Or.
She is also set to play a significant role in Hope, the acclaimed Korean director, Na Hong-Jin’s first film since the box office success of The Wailing in 2016.
