Followed by the special appearance in the Disney+ show, fans have been curious about these characters’ future in the MCU. In the show, the creature survives the hunt and regains his freedom. Marvel Reportedly Developing a Man-Thin Special
Man-Thing has been teased so many times in the MCU. The character was teased in the first season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and was later assumed to be a part of Thor: Ragnarok. Although he does not have a physical appearance in the film, his statue was seen for a brief moment.
Not many details about the Man-Thing project are available, but it is expected to explore the origin of the swamp monster. In comics, Dr. Ted Sallis turns into the creature after he injects himself with the super soldier serum he has been developing. However, things, do not go as planned after he crashes his car in the Florida Everglades.
The serum combines with the swamp to turn him into a monster with superpowers like size alteration, teleportation, fear empowerment, and plant manipulation. Followed by the reactions and reviews for Werewolf by Night, the studio has been planning to develop more such special presentations.
After his special appearances in the MCU, fans were convinced that they would soon see Theodore Sallis officially joining the MCU. However, the creature only had a sort of appearance in the Disney+ special. But now there are rumors that the studio is working on a Man-Thing special.
Kevin Feige has also said that the world they introduced with the special series has become quite important to the future of the MCU. This could probably mean that these characters will surely have a bigger part to play in the MCU. For now, it is believed that the studio is planning another Halloween special with Man-Thing.
Where Would Man-Thing Next Appear in the MCU?
Werewolf by Night director Michael Giacchino has said that with the special he just wanted to tell the story of one night in these characters’ life. And that was the reason there were no major MCU cameos in it. Giacchino also shared that he did try to fit in characters like Blade or Moon Knight in the series, but it did not fit with his vision.
However, Marvel Studios executive producer Brian Gay confirmed that Jack Russell and Man-Thing will have more appearances in the MCU. He said there are having discussions about where they can appear next.
These characters will most likely appear in another supernatural MCU series or movie. Considering this, fans may get to see them in the second season of Moon Knight or the upcoming film Blade. It is also believed that the character would also join the battle against Kang the Conqueror in Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars.
Werewolf by Night is available to stream on Disney+.
