Will Smith’s long-running sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air was loved by all folks who enjoy watching comedy with their families. The show entertained the audience from 1990 to 1996. After 6 successful seasons, the sitcom said goodbye to fans.

Will Smith said no to RuPaul’s cameo in his show because of his image

RuPaul Andre Charles also known for his show RuPaul’s Drag Race is an Icon for the queer and drag community. His show has been winning people’s hearts since 2009. It is one of the most entertaining shows and viewers enjoy the drag queens competing with each other to be the real queen. The executive producer of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air once opened up about Will Smith not willing to cast the 62-year-old drag queen in his hit sitcom. David Steven Simon said he tried to convince the 54-year-old actor to let RuPaul come in for the cameo but he was averse to it. While talking about his conversation with Smith, Simon said,

“I remember him saying that would be a really bad idea. And I said, ‘No, listen, hear my story. The reason he would say no is because of his image. Period. The End.”

Many people wanted to hear what Smith had to say about this story as this statement did make him the bad guy for the LGBTQIA+ community. The Men In Black actor never commented on this story, not even in his book.

Will Smith talked about his son Jaden Smith’s gender-fluid fashion sense

After Smith rejected the idea of bringing a drag queen on his show portrayed him as a villain for the queer community. Soon when the King Richard actor’s son Jaden Smith starred in the women’s campaign for Louis Vuitton in 2016, the actor supported his son’s gender-fluid fashion sense. Many people grilled the 25-year-old rapper and actor for his style. During an interview, when Smith was questioned about the After Earth actor’s fashion sense the actor said,

“There’s a really powerful internal quality as an artist that as parents we encourage. Jaden is 100% fearless. He will do anything, you know? So as a parent, it’s scary. It’s really terrifying. But he is completely willing to live and die by his own artistic decisions and he just doesn’t concern himself with what people think.”
