The creator was asked in a tweet if he ever considered Abigail Spencer as Harvey’s eventual endgame partner, so he replied,

Abigail Spencer played the character of Dana Scott in the series’ 134 episodes. She went to Harvard Law School with Harvey and graduated fourth in the class while he was fifth. They were involved in a romantic relationship in college, but it did not work out. Years later, they met again when Dana wanted to work on his film. As they worked together, their romance rekindled, but it did not go on too long, because of Harvey’s dedication towards Mike.

Harvey and Donna took a long time to fall in love In Suits

Harvey and Donna were shown with impeccable chemistry since the start of the show. They had an incredible bond, which was the reason they worked well jointly. Donna was Harvey’s secretary, but he always treated her as an equal and talked to her freely, about any matter. He also appreciated her for calling him out on his bad behavior.

As per the plot, several factors facilitated Harvey and Donna’s romance. Suits show creators did not want to create a complex romantic relationship like Mike and Rachel.

As per the story, it also didn’t seem logical for Harvey to get into a relationship with Donna in the early seasons. Harvey needed to go through character development in Suits to ensure that their relationship could become long-term. Donna was aware of Harvey’s closed-off attitude in the initial days, which could have harmed the relationship. Harvey and Donna’s love story happened the right way and at the right time. The romance was highly appreciated by the show’s fans.
