How Did Brad Pitt Keep His Humility Intact?
Although crediting his family for his humbleness seems like a great family thing to do for Brad Pitt, it turned out to be quite the opposite. According to his interview with Viasat Magazine in 2001 via IMDb, the actor recalled a particular telephonic conversation with his grandparents that opened his eyes.
“You know, I telephoned my grandparents the other day, and my grandfather said to me, ‘We saw your movie.’ ‘Which one?’. I said, and he shouted, ‘Betty, what was the name of that movie I didn’t like?’.”
Discussing how the subtle humiliation from his grandfather regarding his Oscar-worthy talents not only humbled him but opened his eyes, Brad Pitt stated that it was a “classic” move. Thus, crediting his own family for helping him keep his feet on the ground Pitt stated,
“I thought that was just classic. I mean, if that doesn’t keep your feet on the ground, what would?”
So irrespective of his fame and fortune, Brad Pitt isn’t quite different from common people, when it comes to getting humbled by his own family.
