Henry Cavill has proven his craft by giving fans some of the iconic portrayals whether it be Superman in DCU or Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher series. While he continues to fill our hearts with other characters that continue to bring a different side of his acting potential, fans still can’t let go of the heartbreak they suffered when he exited both the popular franchise.
While things are moving on at a great pace with Liam Hemsworth already prepping hard to replace the former, his series co-star, Anya Chalotra has proven her loyalty with her thoughts.
Anya Chalotra Addressed Henry Cavill’s Exit from The Witcher
Anya Chalotra plays the role of sorceress Yennefer of Vengerberg in the Netflix fantasy series, The Witcher alongside Henry Cavill‘s Geralt of Rivia. The duo has been making our hearts ache with their rocky relationship they share on-screen but off the screen, she cares deeply for her co-star.
In an interview with The Telegraph, she addressed Cavill’s exit from the series and the reply couldn’t be more sad. She found it quite difficult to process the fact that the duo would work for the last time while filming the third season of the Netflix series.
She shared,
“That news was hard to take because he’s family.”
She continued,
“We’ve been together for five years. So for anyone to leave after working with someone for that long, we’re going to feel that loss.”
Their bond was special which is why she will feel the void Cavill would leave after his exit. Meanwhile, his other co-stars are much anticipating Cavill’s replacement in the fourth season.
Freya Allan Talked About Liam Hemsworth’s Debut in The Witcher
Freya Allen, who plays Princess Cirilla of Cintra’s role in the series opened up about Cavill’s exit from the franchise. She shared that the actors were surprised when the news broke out however she chose to look forward.
She shared in the interview with Radio Times,
“It was quite a few months after wrapping and it was a surprise to us all, but I think that we are now focusing on celebrating this work that we’ve all put in together for season 3, and really shedding light on that hard work and trying to focus on that and move forward with what’s ahead, and I think it’ll be exciting to see Liam’s interpretation of this character.”
The actor reportedly chose to leave the franchise due to creative differences with co-showrunner Lauren Hissrich, who wanted to explore a different direction. The Witcher Season 3 is his last portrayal as magically enhanced monster hunter with Liam Hemsworth taking the role in the next season.
The series’ Part 1 is available on Netflix with the second part coming this July 27, 2023.
