Ted Lasso has one of the most interesting premises of a TV series that soccer fans can especially understand the most. A pure American’s take on the world’s most beloved game, and that too in the top soccer league in the world called the Premier League, with almost little to no experience- that’s got to be a selling point.
So far fans of the Jason Sudeikis-starring sports comedy-drama have been treated with a well-written and well-paced two seasons. With things finally picking up flight with AFC Richmond after the end of the second season, a third season is already on its way- and the date of its release has been revealed as well!
The Release Date For Season Three Of Ted Lesso Has Been Revealed
SPOILER WARNING FOR TED LASSO
The start of Ted Lasso’s first season was nothing short of amazing. An American football coach whose experience is limited to the college level of football has been hired to coach a team from the top tiers of football in the Premier League- that’s already enough information to pull in viewers!
The series then follows the titular character, played by Jason Sudeikis, as he tries to pull a disorganized team of soccer players and lead them to glory, or as far as they can reach. The ending of the second season saw the relegated AFC Richmond gain promotion into the Premier League again, and fans can now find out what’s about to happen in the story soon!
The third season of Ted Lasso was bound to come one way or the other, and a recent teaser trailer for the TV series reveals its release date. As confirmed by Apple TV+ on their official Twitter account through a minute-long teaser, the third season of the series releases on March 15 next month-
Will Jason Sudeikis’ character be able to lead AFC Richmond to glory, possibly a go at the title, this season?
Here’s What’s In Store For Ted Lasso‘s Third Season
Fans of Ted Lasso are definitely going to be happy that a release date for the third season of the TV series is finally out because this is the last season of the series, as confirmed by showrunner Bill Lawrence.
So what will fans be getting in the third season of the enthralling sports comedy-drama? Well, a lengthy synopsis of the third season tells us that it’s going to feature a lot of drama, right from the start-
“The newly promoted AFC Richmond faces ridicule as media predictions widely peg them as last in the Premier League and Nate (Nick Mohammed), now hailed as the ‘wonder kid,’ has gone to work for Rupert (Anthony Head) at West Ham United.”
Nate’s appointment as the coach of West Ham United was surely one of the most surprising moments in the second season, although it could be seen from far away-
“In the wake of Nate’s contentious departure from Richmond, Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein) steps up as assistant coach alongside Beard (Brendan Hunt). Meanwhile, as Ted deals with pressures at work, he continues to wrestle with his own personal issues back home; Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham) is focused on defeating Rupert; and Keeley (Juno Temple) navigates being the boss of her own PR agency. Things seem to be falling apart both on and off the pitch, but Team Lasso is set to give it their best shot anyway.”
A lot to unpack in the third season of Ted Lasso, fans are surely going to be in for a wild ride!
Ted Lasso‘s first two seasons are currently available for streaming on Apple TV+.
