Susan Downey had been working with Guy Ritchie in producing RocknRolla. Coincidentally, he was asked to produce the first Sherlock Holmes movie and that’s when she knew who could be perfect for the role. She suggested that her husband become the lead and had it not been for her mediation, the actor would have not gotten the role. She went on to produce both the movie and its sequel.

Robert Downey Jr. first met Susan Levin back in 2003 for a movie she had been producing and he was starring alongside Halle Berry. Gothika became the movie responsible for uniting the two. While the two immediately clicked off, the producer was hesitant to go out with someone who she was working with.
Luckily, she did give it a try, and they got engaged shortly. Although they stayed engaged for two more years after which they got married. Team Downey was the production company that they opened, making them not only lovers and parents but also business partners. They have been together for almost twenty years and their love only seems to be growing more and more.
