Suicide Squad was a superhero genre film based on the DC Comics supervillain and anti-hero team of the same name. The film was written by David Ayer and produced by Warner Bros. Pictures. The film was a box office success, however, it was criticized universally for its unimpactful CGI villain, Enchantress. Despite a strong cast, it is by far the weakest film by DCEU. The release of the new look of Jared Leto as Joker has led fans to hope for the release of the director’s cut of Suicide Squad.
David Ayer has shared several times about his wish for Warner Bros. to release his original vision of the film. Numerous fans have also joined the movement to see the version where Joker is the main villain.
David Ayer opens up on the subway scene of Harley Quinn and Joker
In a recent tweet, The Moonlight Warrior posted that the scene that he wishes to see from the uncut Ayer version is the subway fight between the whole squad and Joker as he asked Quinn to escape with him.
He wrote in the tweet,
The scene I am most excited to see is the subway fight between the Squad and Joker. I want to see Harley reject him to his face.
David Ayer reposted it saying,
That was the entire point of the film.
As per the scene shown towards the end of the film, where Joker is in a helicopter and waits for her to take her away. She drops everything to unite with him. Margot Robbie’s character walks towards him, staring right into his eyes amidst the destruction around her. However, as she enters the helicopter, it blows up and she falls out, with sadness in her eyes.
As per the sources,
“Joker and Harley get into an argument after he rescues her in the hijacked helicopter. In early cuts, he reportedly pushes her out to kill her, then the helicopter gets shot down. This was apparently reworked into the helicopter getting shot down first and Joker pushing her out to save her.”
As per the original cut, towards the end of the film Joker was supposed to appear after the helicopter crash. He would be seen with a grenade in his hand and a burnt face. It was also seen in the third trailer, as Leto’s Joker ran away from the squad dropping a grenade and saying bye-bye.
The analysis includes,
“Joker returns during the final battle in the subway station, face half-burnt from the helicopter crash, which apparently leads to a brief altercation with the Squad. He calls for Harley to escape with him but she refuses for once in order to help her friends, and the Joker escapes after throwing a live grenade at the group to cover his own escape.”
The plot of the film revolves around the crazy love story of Harley Quinn and Joker.
David Ayer posted a photo of Jared Lato’s Joker in a suit

The post has generated a buzz among DC comics enthusiasts about seeing the original uncut version of Suicide Squad, which has a lot of footage of Joker.
Jared Leto’s character Joker was first introduced in 2016’s Suicide Squad, and the director has been sharing new details, photos, and footage from the film. The latest picture has risen hopes of the fans to get what they have been asking for a long time the Ayer cut’ Suicide Squad.
The director of the film, David Ayer, shared that he regrets not making Jared Leto’s Joker the main villain. Ayer replied to a fan tweet saying,
“Believe me. I agonize over this. Yes. Joker should have been main bad guy.”
