Street Fighter 6 Streamer Has Huge Blunder After Forgetting To Turn Off Chun-Li Nude Mod

A recent Street Fighter 6 tournament runs the risk of being banned by streaming service Twitch. The tournament in question ‘forgot’ to turn of a mod which had the character of Chun-Li fully nude during a recent broadcast and certainly gave players an eyeful.

Street Fighter 6 is a game which is enjoyed by players all over the world and there are numerous tournaments that players can compete against each other in but we just have to ask the question about this mod, ‘why is there a need?’.

Street Fighter 6 – what happened?

Controversy could see this Street Fighter 6 banned from Twitch

It’s reported that on 31 July, Corner2Corner were hosting their third tournament of the season and suffice to say, no one who was watching the broadcast was expecting what happened. And it was the match between streamers ‘Lensta’ and ‘Packz’ which had to be pulled from steaming after the broadcast aired a version of the game which included a mod where Chun-Li is fighting in her birthday suit.

Right as round 1 started, the commentators were trying to hold themselves together as Chun-Li appeared without a stitch of clothing. Needless to say, the fight didn’t last long and the broadcast was moved to a bracket screen. And one of the commentator’s responded on the stream with the following;

“That’s an interesting Chun-Li costume there,”

And followed this with;

“Keep in mind that Street Fighter 6 is an 18-plus game, as you guys can see,”

The streaming service could issue a ban for breaking guidelines

We don’t think that’s what Capcom had in mind when they designed the games but good work trying to deflect on this. And Twitch is pretty clear on it’s guideline for broadcast as noted here – ‘Custom gameplay or visual modifications that include nudity or sex content, including uncensored patches, in otherwise allowed games are prohibited’ .

Once the news broke about the Street Fighter 6 tournament and the nude Chun-Li mod, maybe unsurprisingly, Simps took to Social Media en masse;

“anyone got the uncensored version for research”

“Where can I get that mod? Asking for a friend”

But at the time of writing, there has been no ban issued and certainly the tournament seems to be ongoing. And we’re sure they won’t want to make that mistake again. However it should be noted that this isn’t the first time an issue like this has arisen with a broadcast fighting tournament. A streamed Smash Ultimate event from last year had a modded version of Mythra which was uncensored, courting controversy within the community.
