Amidst the anticipation of the much-awaited fifth season of Stranger Things, here are some updates about some significant behind-the-scenes negotiation activity. According to a groundbreaking revelation from Puck News’ Matthew Belloni, there have been immense efforts put to rework the contracts of all 20 regular cast members.
The freshly negotiated Stranger Things cast contracts
David Harbour, experienced immense fame, perching atop the highest ranks in terms of pay scale, right beside Winona Ryder. Reportedly, Harbour and Ryder are set to earn a staggering $9.5 million for their roles in the fifth installment.
It’s important to note that these impressive pay hikes take into consideration an extended duration of time the cast has to put in owing to longer episodes as compared to the previous seasons.
Apart from Ryder and Harbour, the four young boys on the show would also be receiving a higher sum. Initially, the child actors received a paycheck of $25,000 per episode. As Puck reported, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Finn Wolfhard, and Noah Schnapp would receive around $7 million for their respective performances.
Furthermore, one of the most notable of all is Sadie Sink’s jump to second-tier payment in the show. According to Puck, Sink would be bagging a whopping paycheck of $7 million. However, on the other hand, two of the original teenage cast members, Maya Hawke and Joe Keery can be categorized in the third tier, receiving just under $6 million each.
But wait. What about Millie Bobby Brown? Will she be earning more than Winona Ryder?
According to the details shared by Puck, Millie Bobby Brown’s deal with Netflix is already being considered as “ridiculously lucrative.” After all, Brown is the breakout star of Stranger Things, commanding a significant income for her portrayal of Eleven in the series.
Brown, will next be seen in the Russo brothers’ upcoming Netflix project The Electric State. It seems like the Enola Holmes actress is reaping the rewards of her fame from Stranger Things. Although no concrete details of her contract are available yet, Puck’s report affirmed that her overarching arrangement with Netflix is nothing short of spectacular.
Reportedly, season five of the series is scheduled for release in the first half of 2024. Meanwhile, fans can catch the other four seasons that are currently streaming on Netflix.
