Nicholas Hoult is one of the stars whose name has been repeatedly attached to the list of roles he had lost in recent times. The actor portrayed the role of Hank McCoy aka Beast in the X-Men movies. Besides the role of the mutant, the actor was also on the run to play two major DC roles namely Batman and Superman which he lost to other actors.

The actor who rose to prominence with projects like Skins and The Great screen-tested for the role that went to Robert Pattinson. Later Nicholas Hoult also emerged as a major name among the list of actors who were considered for the new Superman that was bagged by David Corenswet. The actor is not having a good time as the fans have now started trolling him for being rejected twice by DC.

Nicholas Hoult continues his trend of losing major titles

When the names of the potential Superman were revealed, Nicholas Hoult emerged as a major player in the race before the role went to David Corenswet. Although the actor also lost the lead role in Matt Reeves’ DC film, the actor has also lost major roles in Tom Cruise’s Top Gun: Maverick and Mission: Impossible- Dead Reckoning Part One. 

It can be deeply felt that the actor’s career would have got a new direction with a major box office hit like Top Gun: Maverick in his filmography. Nicholas Hoult also had to reject Tom Cruise’s offer for Mission Impossible 7 due to his commitment to the series The Great. 

“I screen-tested for The Batman and didn’t get it. Screen-tested for Top Gun, but didn’t get it. Then I got the call from Tom Cruise, ‘Hey, how about Mission: Impossible?’ OK. Got it. Then I had to drop out because I was already attached to do some more of The Great.”

But above every project, two major losses to DC alone led the fans on the internet to troll him for trying his luck repeatedly in the superhero genre. They advise the actor to work on what he can do best after getting two major setbacks.
