Kevin Hart, best known for his standup comedy and films like Get Hard (2015) and Central Intelligence (2016), took to Instagram to share a video on August 24 talking about his age and how he got himself into physical trouble.
Hart, 44, showed that he was sitting in a wheelchair while he was not respecting his age. He constantly kept emphasizing how important it is for a person to take his/her 40s seriously.
His post attracted a lot of his friends’ comments, including Dwayne Johnson. He shared how he faced a similar injury during a wrestling match and joked that he would grow a pair soon.
During a 40-yard dash with an ex-football player Stevan Ridley, who is 34, Kevin Hart suffered an injury to his abdomen. Among many of his friends, his co-star from last year’s Me Time – Mark Wahlberg called him to give him some much-needed advice.
Mark Wahlberg Advised Kevin Hart To Stay In His Lane
Mark Wahlberg, in a conversation with ET Canada, let the viewers know that he had called Hart right when he found out about his injury. The 52-year-old actor was there promoting the tequila brand – Flecha Azul that he had invested in last year.
“I called Kevin, I told him, ‘Stay in your lane.’ You know, he’s lying at home, he’s on the couch. His daughter just went to college, my daughter’s second year in college.”
Me Time was about Kevin Hart’s Sonny Fisher getting to spend time with his old college buddy Huck Dembo played by Wahlberg, who expressed his care during the interview by saying that he felt bad for him and that he’s out there “carrying the torch.”
Kevin Hart On His Near Career-Ending Abdomen Injury
Hart was visibly heartbroken while expressing that he took his age for granted. Stevan Ridley, who played for the New England Patriots, challenged Hart after a debate on who could run faster, which the actor accepted.
Facing an abdomen injury, Hart shared that he was advised not to walk anytime soon.
“Ladies and gentlemen, the age 40 is real. It’s not a game, respect that age. I was forced to respect it. I’m in a wheelchair. Why? Because I jumped out there to do some young man’s stuff. Shoutout to Stevan Ridley. We got to a little debate, based on who’s faster. Stevan said, ‘Kevin, there’s no way you’re gonna beat me.’ Guys, I blew up my sh-t, tore my lower abdomen, my adductors. I tore ‘em, I can’t walk.”
