Some Starfield Streamers Get An Eight Hour Head Start Before Early Access Begins

Starfield

The highly anticipated early access for Starfield will become available to fans tomorrow, August 31, but it seems streaming for the space RPG will begin eight hours prior to its official launch. Developer Bethesda has granted some players special permission to start streaming the game on their respective channels the moment the embargo is lifted and the internet gets flooded with countless reviews.

Depending on the time zone in which you reside, early access to Starfield will become available to you either tomorrow on August 31, or one day later on September 1, if you have bought the game’s Constellation or Premium editions. However, Bethesda has given some streamers exclusive copies of the game prior to the official early access launch and is allowing them to begin their gameplay streams when the review embargo finally lifts. Fans found out about this through a post on Twitter/X by Twitch streamer DansGaming, who expressed his gratitude to the developer for allowing him to stream the RPG earlier than expected.

Excitement levels for Starfield are at an all-time high, as DansGaming continued by saying that the “countdown” to his livestream will start at “9am (Eastern USA) on August 31st,” just three hours before “Noon” strikes and the gameplay stream begins. The long review embargo for Starfield will be lifted tomorrow, Thursday, August 31, at exactly 9 a.m. PT, 5 p.m. BST, and 12 p.m. ET. Although early access to it won’t be accessible until 5 p.m. PT, 1 a.m. BST, and 8 p.m. ET, streamers will be officially allowed to begin their streams with the blessing of developer Bethesda. You can preload the ambitious RPG if you have an Xbox Series X/S, and you will be able to do the same on Steam later today.

Looking back at the hilariously bumpy road leading up to this moment, there have been leakers sharing unauthorized Starfield footage earlier than allowed, and obviously, it didn’t end well for them. An example of this was the 29-year-old YouTuber named Darin Harris, who posted around 40 minutes of gameplay on the platform, along with featuring his face in the videos as well. To make matters worse, he also admitted to stealing copies of the game from a warehouse and trying to sell them on the Internet, which finally caught Bethesda’s attention and led to his inevitable arrest.

All he had to do was wait just a couple of more days for the official permission from Bethesda, and everything would’ve been fine.

Will you be checking out the Starfield streams before the early access launches? Or will you wait a bit more to experience the game yourself? Let us know in the comments!
