Star Wars Jedi Sequel Confirmed and on the Way!

EA wants more games starring Cal Kestis and another Star Wars Jedi title is basically a certainty for the future. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was a success and it is natural that a third game to close a trilogy is expected, in addition, the ending of the story leaves points open for a continuation with the mystery of where Cal Kestis and his allies will end up in the infinity Galaxy.

Star Wars Jedi is indeed getting a third installment

The information came via a conference call of EA’s first quarter results where Andrew Wilson, the CEO of EA, discussed the company’s financial ups and downs of this period, which includes the recent success of licensed Star Wars games. Says Andrew: “Our teams are always thinking about what new experiences we can create. I certainly would love to see more of the Jedi franchise over time. It’s just an extraordinary game that tells an extraordinary story.”

And he continues: “We may be a little biased, but our perception, based on the feedback we’ve received from our community and the quality of this product, is one of the big beats in the Star Wars galaxy this year and will likely continue to be a very significant part of this galaxy for many years to come”.

We don’t know if the success of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was so overwhelming that it immediately warranted a sequel, but execs are excited to put the developers to work. Ubisoft’s Star Wars Outlaws is another upcoming game that may affect the early development of the third title depending on its sales performance that will demonstrate the interest of players in the Star Wars saga in video games.

Star Wars Jedi probably will get a third game

It was also recently reported that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will get a version for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, which indicated a movement in the series that does not seem to stop anytime soon. The elements used by the developers can even help in the design of the third title, saving work, and preventing the team from starting programming from scratch.

So what will this threequel could be about and what corner of the Star Wars galaxy it could explore? Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was mainly about Jedi’s run for survival after Order 66 and from the Inquisitors that were the main villains in that game. The second installment was all around Cal Kestis having moved on with his life and leaving his old crew while being a member of the resistance before ending up involved with the order and against a Sith in a whole new way.

It’s also interesting to note between the Star Wars Jedi series and the upcoming Star Wars Outlaws how the games didn’t vary much about the timelines of the multimedia saga. While they could go into the High Republic past or into the future post-sequel films, the Empire era seems to have appeal with general audiences while some fans prefer the guts to reach into a more inhospitable period of lore.

Either way, Star Wars Jedi doesn’t seem to stop at the second title and fans can expect news soon while development can be in full swing.
