Phase 4 of the MCU was undoubtedly divisive. However, there was one project that truly divided fans- She-Hulk. Fans complained online about everything from the CGI to the plot. Even now, the show is considered to be a low point in the MCU. But as per insider reports, we could see the return of one character from the show.
One might think that maybe the character will show up in another MCU project. But that’s not true. A scooper has stated that the beloved character will show up in the highly anticipated animated film, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. So who will appear in it?
Is Across The Spider-Verse Bringing In A Funny She-Hulk Character?
The character of Leap-Frog appeared in episode 8 of She-Hulk season 1. Brandon Stanley played Eugene Patilio in the show. While he was meant to be seen as a silly and comedic character, he certainly harbored a grudge against Jennifer Walters and Daredevil. So is it possible that he will be seen in some other Marvel media? Or was he just a one-and-done character?

As per notable film insider and Twitter user @CanWeGetToast, Leap-Frog is indeed getting a second chance. Out of all characters in She-Hulk, we might see him leap to another big Marvel project- Across The Spider-Verse. The scooper tweeted, “We’re going to see Leap-Frog in #AcrossTheSpiderverse.” Here’s the tweet:
The character of Leap-Frog was created by Stan Lee and artist Gene Colan. Vincent Patilio, a toy inventor and scientist, was the first Leap-Frog. He turned to crime and created the mantle because he wanted to become rich. The character first appeared in Daredevil #25-26 (1967). He mainly fought Matt Murdock or Daredevil in some of his earliest adventures.
Later on, his son, Eugene Patilio inherited the mantle. But he renamed himself Frog-Man to separate himself from the crimes committed by his father. Also, he tried to do good deeds to be seen as a hero. The She-Hulk show kind of combined the character traits of Eugene with his father Vincent. But overall, it was pretty accurate to the comics.
Fans React To Reports Of She-Hulk Character Being In Across The Spider-Verse
The tweet by the insider shocked fans who certainly didn’t see this coming. After all, in the months leading up to Across The Spider-Verse’s release, fans were hoping for Andrew Garfield, Tobey Maguire, and Tom Holland’s Spidermen to appear in the film. They didn’t expect a minor character like Leap-Frog to make it in instead. As a result, fans are having a multitude of reactions to this latest news.

Here’s what the fans are saying:
It should be kept in mind that nothing has been officially confirmed as of yet. Even if the insider is right, it’s possible that Leap-Frog won’t be anything more than a cameo, perhaps meant to connect the MCU with the Spiderverse more. However, it’s also possible that it’s an entirely new iteration of the comic book villain and not the one we saw in She-Hulk. We will find out when the animated film hits theaters.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will release on 2 June 2023.
