Actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s performance as Luke Hobbs in four Fast & Furious films was loved by fans all over the world. He was a part of the franchise from 2011 to 2017 and also played the role in the 2019 spin-off, Hobbs & Shaw. However, many fans were left heartbroken when he announced his departure from the franchise in 2021. There were rumors that his exit came due to his feud with the star of the franchise, Vin Diesel.
The 10th and the latest installment in the Fast & Furious franchise, Fast X, was released last week and it managed to surpass Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam‘s entire domestic box office run. Many fans had eyes on the statistics as Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson’s silent feud continues.
Fast X managed to gross over $319 million
The latest Fast & Furious movie, Fast X, was released in the United States on 19th May 2023. Over the weekend, the movie managed to earn more than $319 million at the global box office. This is quite impressive as not a lot of films manage to hit this big milestone so early.
However, this number is yet to reach the original budget of the film, $340 million. To put it in perspective, The Fast and the Furious, which came out in 2001, had a budget of only $38 million. The previous movie, F9, had a budget of $200 million. Fast X has managed to secure the seventh spot in the list of the most expensive movies ever made.

Fans reacted to the movie’s achievement
Fast X has received mixed reviews from the fans. While many fans of the franchise have defended the movie, some claim that it lacked certain crucial elements. However, the milestone was something that everyone celebrated.
The previous movie, F9, managed to gross over $726 million worldwide. Fast X is expected to cross that number very soon. It is expected to be one of the highest-grossing movies of 2023.
Black Adam made only about $168 million in the United States
Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel are portrayed as archenemies by the mainstream media. Naturally, fans compared Johnson’s highly anticipated movie of 2022, Black Adam, to Vin Diesel’s latest movie. A lot of hype was created for Black Adam but it only managed to earn about $168 million in the United States and a worldwide total of $393 million. So it’s safe to say that Fast X will easily cross Black Adam’s entire worldwide earnings in a week.
