Hollywood, at times, is targeted by female artists from different spheres for the pay disparity that exists between them and their male co-workers. For an industry that has, for the longest time, been inclined toward male artists, the increase in women leading different projects has definitely changed the landscape.

Tom Cruise Gets Big Bucks, Margot Robbie Doesn’t
Despite the landslide success of Margot Robbie’s bubblegum pink-themed Barbie universe, the actor has reportedly been given a handsome paycheck. But, is that really the case?
Taking a look at the updated figures of the film, Barbie has officially clocked in a whopping $1.18 billion at the worldwide box office. With earnings like these, Margot Robbie’s own salary and her cut from ticket sales have fallen short when compared to Tom Cruise’s stratospheric earnings from his latest – Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One which still lags far behind at the box office.
In a Twitter post, Variety published their exclusive photo that mentioned Margot Robbie is looking at “roughly” $50 million that includes her salary and her share of box office bonuses.
Feminists On Twitter Come To Support Margot Robbie
Variety also reported that Tom Cruise was rewarded with twice the money for reviving his character Pete Mitchell in Top Gun: Maverick (2022) as compared to what Margot Robbie is expecting.
As Barbie is now close to touching Top Gun: Maverick’s $1.4 billion collection, the former has far outmatched Cruise’s Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One which has struggled at the box office and has only managed $522 million so far.
Reports suggest that Cruise is likely to get $100 million again with the seventh installment. Margot Robbie’s fifty percent less income than Cruise has infuriated feminists on Twitter.
