Despite being involved in a number of very serious controversies, there is no doubt that Shia LaBeouf is an exceptionally talented and renowned actor. He has made a name for himself, outside of his accusations and additions, as an incredibly skilled individual, starring in many massive successful projects like the Transformers franchise, Nymphomaniac, Fury, and the Indiana Jones franchise.
Even though LaBeouf is an incredibly famous actor, he falls short compared to the likes of the Oscar-winning actor, Brad Pitt. During an interview, the star talked about the Pitt and how in their 2014 film, Fury, the entire cast was acting strangely around him due to his fame and status.
Shia LaBeouf And His Co-Stars Gave Brad Pitt A Unique Nickname During Fury
During an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Shia LaBeouf talked about his film, Fury, when the star was asked what it was like working with the legendary, Brad Pitt, as well as how the rest of the cast reacted to this opportunity. The actor revealed that everyone on set was quite star-stuck at the fact that they were working with the Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood actor. He added that Pitt was his hero and that, in order to show respect, everyone on set would refer to the actor as ‘Top’, which was short for ‘Top Dog’.
The reason behind this nickname was the fact that Pitt’s character’s name in the film was ‘War Daddy’, prompting his co-stars to refer to him by this nickname. Another reason for this was the fact that they believed the actor to be deserving of the status, adding that was always on the top from the start. This wasn’t the only way Pitt’s co-stars showed his respect, as the actor was given special treatment without even knowing.
Shia LaBeouf Held Back When Fighting Brad Pitt On The Set On Fury
Shia LaBeouf then went on to reveal that while filming Fury, the director of the film would require co-stars to engage in actual fights amongst each other. While no one would hold back when it comes to this, it would seem that a certain actor was saved from the majority of the heavy brunt of these punches as the cast held back when fighting Brad Pitt.
LaBeouf explained their reasoning for this, stating that no one in the cast of the film wanted to be the one to actually hurt Pitt, even during play-fighting. So as a way to impress and please the actor, they would not hit him as hard as they did the others. LaBeouf added that this activity was quite good, stating that it helped the cast to know each other better. However, a lot of times, it felt like they were a bunch of people going on a date with one person with the way they treated and acted towards Pitt.
