Joe Rogan is a well of content and entertainment on most occasions, serving his audience with the occasional controversies alongside having A-lister names or industry experts to educate his listeners in his Spotify podcast. The Joe Rogan Experience, in the recent past, along with its host has become a subject of boycott and protests for some of the issues being talked about as well as speculation and drama for the sensation caused by the same.
However, more often than not, the podcast host gives his audience a modicum of normality by fawning over the graphics and action sequences in triple-A games like God of War or being awed by the power of a neutron star.
Joe Rogan Asks Guest About the God of War Interface
When two comedians sit together to talk about a subject one of them is unusually interested in and the other only mildly educated about it, the ensuing chaos is a sure thing to expect. That is what happened on an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience almost 4 and a half years ago. While having Duncan Trussell over as a guest on his episode, Joe Rogan and the comedian skimmed over some of the gameplay of the then-recent storyline of God of War, when an unusual thing happened.

Awed by the level of intense action and veritable graphic imagery of the game, Rogan was immediately taken in by Kratos and Freya fighting off gods and giants. Trussell immediately comments, “She’s so hot,” to which Rogan affirms, “She’s very hot.” This of course warranted a follow-up question where the latter asked the former, “[Do] you think you can hang out with a chick who, like, cuts people’s heads off with swords?” Trussell hardly hesitates before replying with a child-like, awe-induced, and enthusiastic, “Yes,” setting Rogan off in peals of laughter.
Joe Rogan Stunned By God of War Gameplay and Graphics
The infamous podcaster is known for being universally interested in all existing themes and topics. As such, his Spotify podcast is a trove of information ranging from subjects like politics to gaming to cinema. Alongside friends and guests that include people educated enough to deliver a masterclass in their respective fields of artistic and creative panorama, the former UFC commentator, Joe Rogan is uniquely receptive to new information and it shows in episodes like the one with the stand-up comedian Duncan Trussell.
On 28th June 2018, in episode #1137 of The Joe Rogan Experience, the pair gushed over God of War‘s interface and gameplay. It is important to note that the GoW had been awarded the “Game of the Year” honor along with “Best Game Direction” in 2018. So it’s only natural to understand why even non-gamers like Rogan would be impressed by the stunning amount of details presented in the triple-A-rated game – “You can see the dirt on his hands, it’s like you’re watching an episode of Vikings.”
However, this is not the first time Rogan had become a public talking point when it comes to video games. The podcaster had landed in hot water a few years ago for taking a shot at video games, claiming that people who play games don’t progress in life owing to their “fun” and “addictive” nature. God of War director and designer, Cory Barlog, had been one of the most vocal partisans in the backlash that followed, replying to Rogan’s claims how gaming “definitely got [Barlog] nowhere.”
