It is difficult to ignore famous people who have demonstrated a strong desire to be kind to and supportive of other artists. One such person was the late legendary actress, Carrie Fisher, who died in December 2016.
Carrie Fisher made appearances in some acclaimed movies like Return of the Jedi and The ‘Burbs throughout her career. She was also a best-selling author of brutal memoirs like The Princess Diarist, 2016 (in which she discussed her affair with Harrison Ford). In addition, she performed on several television programs like 30 Rock.
However, Fisher will always be remembered by her countless fans as Princess Leia Organa. Her depiction of Leia in the Star Wars saga made the late American actress and author particularly well-known. She also made a difference in music.
She even allowed a famous person to record a song in her bathroom. Though a little blizzard, it was also kind and generous of her!
Carrie Fisher Allowed James Blunt To Record In Her Home
In a world where celebrities regularly steal the show for their controversial actions, every so often a touching story emerges that reminds us of the goodness and beauty that exist within. One such tale revolved around the late actress, Carrie Fisher, who offered her assistance to none other than the gifted singer-songwriter, James Blunt.
The British singer, songwriter, and musician, 49, is best known for his hit song, You’re Beautiful. During his visit to The Nightly Show, he once admitted to writing one of his other hits in Fisher’s bathroom.
The Bonfire Heart artist also talked about how he became good friends with The Princess Diarist author.
“She [Carrie Fisher] was an amazing woman, Carrie. I met her in London in a restaurant through mutual friends. She asked me, ‘What do you do?’ I said, ‘I’ve just left the army, I’ve got a record deal, and I’m going to move to Los Angeles to record an album.’”
Fisher was very accommodating. Blunt continued:
“She [Carrie Fisher] said, ‘Well then you’re going to need a place to stay — come and live with me.’ Literally like that.”
James Blunt Paid Tribute To Carrie Fisher After Her Death
Beyond her own acting career, Carrie Fisher had a deep appreciation for the arts. The late legendary actress and vocal music lover expressed her admiration for James Blunt’s abilities. By letting him record one of his hit songs, she enthusiastically supported his musical endeavors.
James Blunt explained the relationship between the Wonderwell actress and his music:
“I lived in her [Carrie Fisher] house, recording three of those albums, and whenever I’ve been in LA that’s my home. I recorded ‘Goodbye My Lover’ in her bathroom because everyone has a piano in Hollywood. Just a really remarkable person, and she went out with a bang as General Leia back in Star Wars.”
Blunt claimed in an interview with Republic World that he visited Fisher’s house, touched the gate, and sobbed as he grieved her death. The High singer recalled:
“I heard on the intercom, ‘And on your left, you’ll see the late great Carrie Fisher’s house, and you’ll see some fans are still deeply moved by her passing.'”
Well, we can therefore, safely say that without the late actress, who died at the age of 60, the vintage soft rock, Goodbye My Lover might not sound the same.
Meanwhile, you can watch her beloved film series, Star Wars, which is streaming on Disney Plus.
