It has been observed that modern technology does not sit well with older actors. Finn Wolfhard seems to be the victim here of a bad texter as Winona Ryder simply does not text back to the Ghostbusters: Afterlife actor.
Sharing the screen on Stranger Things, the duo has been an integral part of the series and the franchise. The interpersonal relationship of the cast also seems to be going well as Finn Wolfhard considers Winona Ryder as one of his mentors.
Finn Wolfhard Calls Winona Ryder A Bad Texter
After starring in various roles (mainly quirky), Winona Ryder rose to prominence in the 1990s. Having starred in a number of projects over the years, the Edward Scissorhands actor became one of the spiritual mentors of Finn Wolfhard.
Having bonded over the years since the inception of Stranger Things back in 2016, the actors have gotten to know each other quite well. When GQ sat down for a chat with the It actor, Wolfhard revealed his relationship with Winona Ryder. Calling her a bad texter, Finn Wolfhard stated that she would never text him back after their conversation abruptly ends.
“[Winona Ryder is] one of the funniest texters ever, because she’ll text you and then you’ll text her back and then she won’t text you ever again. She’ll text you whatever, say something like, ‘Oh, have you ever seen this movie?’ And I’ll be like, ‘No, I haven’t. How are you?’ And then just, nothing,”
The Goldfinch actor further continued,
“She dated Dave Grohl and MCA from Beastie Boys, and all these people. I could literally ask her what it was like knowing Kurt Cobain, and she just tells me everything. It’s insane.”
Whatever the case, the cast of Stranger Things has been known to bond greatly over the years. Starting the series back in 2016, it was not an upside graph in Wolfhard’s career. Talking about the toll on his mental health, Finn Wolfhard revealed that he suffers greatly from panic attacks and recently experience one.
When Finn Wolfhard Struggled With His Mental Health
Garnering quite a heavy dose of fame for the young actor, Finn Wolfhard suffered from panic attacks at the age of 13. Talking about his mental health, Wolfhard revealed that his life wasn’t as easy as the people made it out to be.
“[I] did not talk about anything, because I just was having this crazy whirlwind career, so there was no time, or at least we didn’t feel at the time.. Everyone was like, ‘Look at him, he’s fine. He’s having the best time,’. But in reality, I was probably also developing and things were happening in my brain and anxieties were forming and things that I didn’t realize that I had to bury because of how I had to feel at work.”
Finn Wolfhard also stated that he recently suffered from a panic attack when he was shooting his latest movie with Jesse Eisenberg. The A24 movie titled When You Finish Saving The World stars Finn Wolfhard along with Alisha Boe and is available on Apple TV+.
