Considering Wonderwell is the last feature-length film comprising the actress, who was able to film all of her scenes weeks before her unfortunate death, fans are ready to pour their love into this project.

While opening up the project, Vlad Marsavin’s explained the visual effects for the film alongside Covid delays and beloved Carrie Fisher’s passing ultimately resulted in the film’s delay. But finally, on the verge of its release, he claimed it is the perfect time for the movie to hit the screens, which will honor the late actress’s legacy, whose passing was a very emotional moment for the whole crew. He explained,
“From filming to screen, it has taken us seven years. The visual effects on a movie of this magnitude takes time, but we were challenged with Covid lockdowns and of course the passing of our wonderful Carrie Fisher. Now is the perfect time to share her magical on screen moments as Hazel. Carrie was full of energy during filming and even celebrated her 60th birthday with us in Italy where we shot the movie.”
With a week away from its release, the film is set for a limited theatrical run via AMC in the U.S. and fans are hoping that the film will be able to do justice to the actress and deliver a great experience.
Wonderwell is set to release on 23 June 2023.
