MCU star Brie Larson’s spectacular superhero movie Captain Marvel was released in 2019 with a bang grossing over $1 billion at the global box office, as reported by Variety. But even after 4 years of the movie Larson still struggles to remember the MCU timeline.
The order of the MCU timeline is required for the continuity of the stories of the universe. But Captain Marvel is far behind in recalling it, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Larson relied on her MCU co-star Iman Vellani.
Brie Larson Could Not Remember MCU Timeline
Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers a.k.a. Captain Marvel has set quite a landmark being the first female-led superhero movie to gross over $1 billion. But it seems the actor has not been that much invested in the timeline of the Marvel Cinematic Universe like her co-star Iman Vellani. “I’ve just learned to trust Iman because she really has her timelines in order,” Larson said.
“She’s the one that’s always schooling us. I wouldn’t know how old Carol is without her. She really does the math.”
Vellani made her onscreen debut with MCU’s Disney+ show Ms. Marvel as Kamala Khan. The 20-year-old actor has been a fan of comic books and has stored astounding comic book knowledge to her benefit. She does not hesitate to correct anyone if they say something wrong about the lores. “I just say things with enough conviction,” Vellani said adding, “and they believe me.”
Recently joining with Larson and WandaVision star Teyonah Parris, Vellani is set to appear in the upcoming MCU slate The Marvels. The trio has an off-screen bond like sisters as well.
The Trio in The Marvels
Following the success of Captain Marvel MCU has extended Larson’s character bringing her back to The Marvels. Alongside Larson, Parris and Vellani will join Nia DaCosta’s superhero film as the leading stars.
“I’m excited that the MCU has three lead women, all from very diverse backgrounds, and they’re all baddies in their own way. It’s going to be really exciting just to see these smart, fun, intelligent, and troubled women find their way,” Parris said.
Marvel president Kevin Feige was keen on bringing more female superheroes from the comics to the screen even before the release of Captain Marvel, primarily Monica Rambeau and Kamala Khan. “This was something Kevin and I had talked about from the beginning, that this was the way this story made sense to go,” Larson said. Now, instead of a regular sequel to Captain Marvel, the new movie will bring more female superheroes to the screen.
As far as the synopsis goes, the trio— Carol, Monica, and Kamala somehow synced, and they are armed with the ability to physically swap places when they use their powers. This brings some interesting co-relation between the characters, uniting them into one pack of a powerhouse.
The Marvels will hit the theatres on 10 November 2023.
