Popular for portraying Will Byers in Stranger Things, Schnapp took this time to complete his studies and decided to attend college.
He has also been in conversation since he came out as gay earlier this year. During his recent interview with Variety, the 18-year-old actor shared his sister’s reaction to him coming out, saying that she was happy as she hated the idea of him marrying another girl.
Noah Schnapp on Coming Out to His Twin Sister
Noah Schnapp came out as gay via a video shared through his TikTok with the caption saying, “I guess I’m more similar to Will than I thought.” During his recent interview, the 18-year-old actor opened up about what gave him the courage to finally say it out loud.
He shared that seeing the love and support Will Byers received for possibly being gay in the series also made him realize that there was nothing to worry about. He said that although he was hesitant at first, his family has been supportive, and his mother even told him that she already knew about it.
Once he was sure about his feelings, he came home and decided that his sister would be the first person he would come out to. While he was nervous at first, he eventually shared what he felt, and the actor describes his sister’s reaction as “ecstatic.”
The Tutor actor recalled, “She said that she would’ve hated the idea of me marrying another girl and having to compete with that girl for my attention.” He shared that his sister, Chloe Schnapp, was happy that his partner would be a guy and she would make sure he would be her best friend.
Internet Weirded Out By Noah Schnapp’s Sister’s Reaction
While fans have been supportive of the Stranger Things star Noah Schnapp, his sister’s reaction to him coming out has surprised many. People took to social media to share their thoughts on the same, with one user saying, “Excuse me but what the f*ck?”
While some stated that it is normal behavior among twins, not everyone agreed with it as they questioned, “What is this?” Pointing out the creepiness in the statement, one user stated that it would not have been such a big deal if she was an 8-year-old, but many find it weird coming from an 18-year-old.
Others also question why Schnapp’s sister takes a woman as a competition but is highly welcoming to his partner being a man, even pronouncing him her “best friend.” Although people are creeped out by the whole thing, some fans have asked people not to take it too seriously and said that it shows how close they are.
