The tale of Wonder Woman 3 will remain untold given the direction the DC Studios is currently headed towards. James Gunn is strictly establishing a need and necessity-based skeletal framework to rule over the DC Universe Bible. With characters like Henry Cavill’s Superman, Ben Affleck’s Batman, and Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman all going through massive existential crises, nothing short of a miracle at this point can mend the audience’s dream and merge it with the DCU chief’s vision for the coming future.
Wonder Woman 3 Script to Stay on Lockdown at DC For Now
The inefficacy of a Patty Jenkins and Gal Gadot team-up cannot be stressed enough, considering how the sine wave graph that the DC Studios has been flaunting since its advent on November 1st speaks for itself. The good news-bad news situation that the Warner Bros. Discovery merger brought to DC has ensured the future of the sinking CBM franchise but at great cost to its beloved IPs and the actors who portrayed them best.

With DC’s insinuation about Henry Cavill‘s deal extending only to the Black Adam mid-credits scene, and Batfleck being left out of the CCXP 2022 poster, it now looks like Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman may be the next in line for the gallows even though a Wonder Woman 3 script has been ready for take-off for quite a while now.
While attending the Matera Film Festival in Italy, Patty Jenkins revealed in the first week of October 2022 that she had finished typing out the last scene of Wonder Woman 3 and was ready to launch pre-production as soon as possible. Her excitement, and Gadot’s, would soon be squandered away after The Hollywood Reporter recently declared that the threequel was officially dead at DCU. News about Jenkins’s exit came soon after, with insiders stating creative disagreement over the script was the leading cause behind the director walking out.
Fans Blame Wonder Woman 3 Cancellation on Bad Script
It is unlikely that the script of Wonder Woman 3 could rival even the problematic issues of Wonder Woman 1984 but that is what is widely considered true. Ever since Patty Jenkins’s exit was ruled as an effect of creative disagreement, fans have taken that to mean that the script of the first film had done well mostly because it was conceived under Zack Snyder‘s supervision. Beyond that, her only solo run with WW84 was a failed attempt and one that magnificently ruined a character as epically villainous as Maxwell Lord in one single swoop.
Even with DC’s claims of keeping Gal Gadot within the franchise as Wonder Woman, the lack of a third movie and Patty Jenkins’s refusal to work on a rewrite casts a shadow over the fate and the future of the character in DCU. Considering how Gadot had posted a celebratory tweet mere days before the rumors of the film’s official death, it still is a confusing subject as to who stands where with regards to the actress and her DCU character’s future.
