The taunting seemed confusing mainly because Jackson’s future in the MCU currently remains uncertain. Apart from Secret Invasion, he has only been confirmed for the Captain Marvel sequel, The Marvels, scheduled for release later this year. Whether or not Fury will cross paths with Dreyfus’ Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine remains a mystery.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus has been making appearances as the mysterious Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine in the MCU, starting with The Falcon and the Winter Soldier on Disney+. Her character has been assembling a team for unknown purposes, fueling speculation that they might be the Thunderbolts.
