Before James Gunn Rewrote it, The Flash Original Ending Led to Henry Cavill's Man of Steel 2

Henry Cavill made his DC entry with the role of Superman in the film Man of Steel. The film established his comic book superhero character. He appeared in other DCEU films but did not get another solo film. Earlier there were talks about making another Superman film with Cavill, but with the appointment of the new CEOs, the plan was scratched. The upcoming Superman: Legacy does not feature Henry Cavill, which ends the actor’s Superman career.

The Flash Could Have Led to Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel Sequel

The Flash was released a few weeks back, and it has quickly become one of the worst movies in the DC universe. The film is getting severely criticized for its poor execution, direction, cinematography, acting, and more.

Reportedly, the film initially had a different ending, which involved the presence of Henry Cavill as Superman. However, the plan was canceled when James Gunn and Peter Safran took over the reins of the production house.

According to the canceled plan, the caped superhero Cavill was supposed to appear in Ezra Miller’s film’s end scene.

As per The Hollywood Reporter, Cavill’s character originally emerged as a part of the courthouse steps sequence in The Flash. The end part was shot in September, where Cavill appeared alongside Sasha Calle’s Supergirl, Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, and Michael Keaton as Batman. Its ensemble would have set up the character for the next standalone Superman film.

Nonetheless, the ending of the film was changed, and Warner Bros. chose to use a different version. The Flash surprised fans with the cameo by George Clooney’s Batman.

As per the reports, after Cavill did a Black Adam cameo, there were talks about the sequel of Man of Steel. There were also rumors about the progress of the film, however, Warner Bros. halted the project. They chose to have a new take on the DC universe under the guidance of its new DC Studio leads.

The original film was written by Peaky Blinders’ fame Travis Knight. The story plot comprised Cavill’s DC hero fights with the iconic Superman villain Brainiac. The film would have led to Cavill’s future appearances in other projects.

Ezra Miller’s The Flash is presently in theatres.
