Robert Downey Jr's Iron Man Co-star Gwyneth Paltrow Refused to Speak With Restaurant Staff For Mystery Reason, Forced Her Assistant to Serve Her Food

Gwyneth Paltrow was already an Oscar-winning actress when she signed on for MCU’s Iron Man and other subsequent films. The MCU catapulted her to a level of global stardom she had never experienced before. Parallelly, she also started her company called GOOP as well. However, being a successful businesswoman and actress didn’t make her magnanimous as well. In fact, not only has the actress been criticized for her foot-in-mouth moments but also for being a diva. However, the Marvel actress crossed all boundaries of being a diva when she neglected a restaurant’s staff.

Gwyneth Paltrow is known to be a bit of a prima donna. After all, there are several instances where the haute living and alternative wellness product-promoting actress made people give her the side-eye. One of which, includes an alleged incident where she was discourteous to the staff of a restaurant. She apparently refused to speak to them and instead told her assistant to order for her. The commentator insinuated that the famous star deigned herself above the staff and probably didn’t want to deal with them.

In the Reddit post on the Server Life subreddit, an anonymous poster said:

“Gwyneth refused to ‘speak with the help’ and ordered via her assistant.”

However, there’s no picture or video to back it up, and such claims are a dime a dozen on Reddit and other social media platforms. However, there have been other legit instances where the Shakespeare in Love actress has said questionable things that have made her even more alienated from the common audiences.

During a 2009 interview with Elle UK, Gwyneth Paltrow made such a blunder that everyone reading the magazine wondered if the celeb was from planet Earth or not. In the article, she was asked to address her haters and the Contagion actress compared herself with a common person in an unflattering manner. She said:

“I am who I am. I can’t pretend to be somebody who makes $25,000 a year.”

The statement in itself is condescending and elitist for sure, but also it did nothing to deter her haters. In fact, more joined the ranks because they thought of her as a snob. However, Paltrow has always indicated that she grew up quite detached from the way normal people live their lives. In her cookbook titled, My Father’s Daughter, the MCU actress tried to relate to everyday people, but it backfired.

She wrote in the book:

“You just need some good ingredients and a few simple recipes, maybe a couple of jokes, or a ‘topic to dissect’ at the table, the way they do it at Nora Ephron’s house”

Paltrow probably doesn’t know that most people haven’t met Nora Ephron. That’s not all. In the cookbook, she mentions a pantry list that contains ingredients most people probably haven’t heard of in their lifetimes either, like Za’atar, a Middle Eastern spice. While sometimes the Iron Man actress comes across as clueless, other times, like not addressing the restaurant staff directly, show her in a poor light that makes audiences think of her as a spoiled brat.
