The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel lead actor Rachel Brosnahan has been making the headlines as she has been cast as “Lois Lane” in the upcoming James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy which is all set to be the first official film in Gunn’s new DCU. She has been cast alongside the very handsome David Corenswet as the “last son of Krypton”, replacing Henry Cavill. Tissue, anyone?
Brosnahan’s performance in the Amazon series has been praised by many as bubbly, warm, and witty. Probably all the qualities she needs to assume her next journey as Lois Lane.
Let’s Look At Rachel Brosnahan’s Earnings So Far
Brosnahan’s breakout role as “Miriam Maisel” happened as she had nailed the character of a prostitute named Rachel Posner in the Netflix hit House of Cards. What’s interesting here is, Corenswet has also appeared in the series in one episode.
With an impressive portfolio of films under her arsenal, she has shared the screen with some of the finest actors in the business. Patriot’s Day with Mark Wahlberg, The Courier with Benedict Cumberbatch, and The Finest Hours with Chris Pine to name a few.
During the initial seasons of Mrs. Maisel, she was paid around $100,000 for each episode. As the series picked up traction and became a success, the figure rose to $300,000 for every episode during the final season. No wonder she has been able to accumulate a whopping $15 million according to celebrity net worth.
Gearing Up For Lois Lane
Gunn has been very particular about shaping up his new and improved DC universe as he has been deep into storyboarding and the casting process for the Superman film.
Getting Rachel Brosnahan on board just shows how “comic-accurate” the casting choice is. She just looks the part. A month ago, in an interview with The View, the 32-year-old actor expressed how she felt about her casting rumors doing the rounds on the internet. This is what she had to say –
“I mean look, take everything you read on the internet with a grain of salt. It’s my first piece of advice. But look, it would be extraordinary. I grew up watching her. An incredibly talented journalist who is far from a damsel in distress. And, I would jump at the chance, if it arose”
She has won a lot of accolades ranging from Golden Globes, Actor’s Guild, Primetime Emmy, and Critics’ Choice for her brilliant work in Mrs. Maisel. Now, as she moves on to her new project, we are yet to see how she tackles her breakout film opportunity.
Superman: Legacy arrives on 11 July 2025.
