Basil Iwanyk, the producer of the John Wick film series, states that Keanu Reeves wanted the series’ lead character to die in John Wick: Chapter 4. Reeves intended for John to be killed off permanently, but according to Director Chad Stahelski, Reeves might come back for John Wick 5 provided the sequel had a solid framework for where the plot should go.
Producer Says They All Want Another John Wick
Basil Iwanyk, the producer of John Wick, revealed to Collider that Keanu Reeves requested the creators of the legendary action series to kill him off at the end of John Wick: Chapter 4.
Many are speculating whether Keanu Reeves will appear in a fifth John Wick film in light of the film’s mysterious finale in John Wick: Chapter 4. Given that John’s survival at the end of Chapter 4 is skeptical, a John Wick 5 suddenly appears to be a stronger possibility.
In an interview with Collider, Basil Iwanyk said:
“We all want another John Wick. We don’t know what it looks like and when it will happen, but we love each other and we love this world,” he continued. “It’s gonna be all hands to try to figure it out. Have we figured it out? No. And if we can’t figure it out, will there be one? No, of course not. No one is gonna try to just jam it for the sake of jamming it.”
It is certain that if Reeves were to return to the franchise, the following installment would need to provide a compelling reason for John Wick’s return.
Director Chad Stahelski Definitely Wants To Make John Wick 5

The director said he would really like to make a John Wick 5 if there would be one. He even went ahead to add why he would love to make another movie. On various occasions, the director has stated his love for the genre, specifically for Keanu Reeves.
