Scarlett Johansson is one of Hollywood’s most powerful and successful actors. Her acting skills have taught her how to captivate audiences. The 38-year-old actress has often clapped back at many people in the industry for their inappropriate actions.
Johansson once sued Disney over the controversy surrounding her film Black Widow, and she also criticized James Franco after he was accused of s*xually assaulting women. Johansson didn’t shy away from taking a jibe at the 45-year-old actor.
Scarlett Johansson reportedly said James Franco preys on weak women
Scarlett Johansson delivered a great speech at the 2018 Women’s March in Los Angeles. She spoke about women’s empowerment and how women should not be afraid to fight men who try to exploit them. During her address, she made a jab at actor James Franco, who has been accused of s*xually harassing women. Violet Paley also spoke up against Franco, claiming he tried to s*xually harass her. In her speech at the Women’s March, the Don Jon actress said,
“How could a person publicly stand by an organization that helps to provide support for victims of s*xual assault while privately preying on people who have no power? I want my pin back, by the way.”
Franco denied all the allegations against him. Reportedly, the women who spoke against the Why Him? actor said the actor forced them to have oral s*x with him.
Scarlett Johansson was called a hypocrite after her speech against James Franco
Johansson’s representative acknowledged shortly after her speech that the actress was alluding to Franco in her Women’s March speech. Because of her speech, the internet began labeling the Lost in Translation actress a hypocrite. People on social media questioned Johansson about her support for her director, Woody Allen, who was also accused of s*xual harassment. Allen was accused of s*xually harassing his adopted child. As per reports, she defended her movie, Scoop’s director. In her statement, Johansson’s said,
“It’s not like this is somebody that’s been prosecuted and found guilty of something, and you can then go, ‘I don’t support this lifestyle or whatever.’ I mean, it’s all guesswork. I don’t know anything about it. It would be ridiculous for me to make any kind of assumption one way or the other.”
Although Franco denied all the allegations against him, netizens said the Under The Skin actress was quick enough to declare him guilty. She was trolled on social media for many days after the speech and many women also asked her to stand against Allen if she was standing against Franco. The 38-year-old actress didn’t make a comment about being called a hypocrite.
