Nintendo fans are eating well today after today’s Nintendo Direct! From remakes of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door to Mario vs. Donkey Kong, fans also finally got a look at the brand new Princess Peach game.
Officially titled, Princess Peach: Showtime!, it’s a single-player action adventure game where Princess Peach will wear many different hats to save the Sparkle Theater from the wicked Grape and the Sour Bunch. Princess Peach: Showtime! is launching next year on March 22 exclusively on the Nintendo Switch.
What To Expect In Princess Peach: Showtime!
Princess Peach made a trip to the Sparkle Theater, but it was cut short as the wicked Grape and the Sour Bunch took over. It’s up to Princess Peach and the theater’s guardian, Stella, to save the day.
Using Stella’s ribbon gives Princess Peach powers to defeat the Sour Bunch. The spotlight is on Princess Peach as she navigates through different plays to restore order in the Sparkle Theater.
If the ribbon can’t get the job done, Princess Peach can transform into one of her many outfits. From a swordfighter to a pastry chef, Princess Peach can take on many different roles in Princess Peach: Showtime!

The gameplay styles vary as Princess Peach wears different outfits. One moment Princess Peach is a martial arts fighter, the next moment she’s a detective.
No two outfits play the same as the scenarios in Princess Peach: Showtime! changes from play to play. Princess Peach has a massive mountain to climb if she wishes to save the Sparkle Theater from the wicked Grape and the Sour Bunch.
How Did We Get Here: Princess Peach’s New Adventure
Before Princess Peach: Showtime! was formally announced, fans knew about the Princess Peach game a few months ago during the June 21, 2023 Nintendo Direct. The Princess Peach game was announced alongside an enhanced version of Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, now officially titled Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD.
The initial teaser emphasized Princess Peach will star in her own adventure. None of the transformations were shown yet as Nintendo wanted to keep this Princess Peach game under wraps a little bit longer.

The last time Princess Peach starred in her own game was with Super Princess Peach in 2006 for the Nintendo DS. It looks like Yoshi’s Island with its bright colors and retro graphics.
Super Princess Peach used her emotions to solve puzzles and defeat enemies. Using emotions as a power for a female led video game would certainly be problematic today, so Princess Peach: Showtime! will be moving away from that theme.
