The Guardians of the Galaxy have always provided some much-needed comic relief to fans of the Superhero franchise. The unlikely band despite being your run-off-the-mill criminals at one time, were far less intimidating than their Terran counterparts. Pom Klementieff’s Mantis is no different. But that hasn’t stopped the Hacker’s Game star from making life hell for her co-stars, who had to square up to her torture.
How Pom Klementieff made her mark felt in the MCU
Pom Klementieff marked her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in 2017, featuring in Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2 as the lovable mind-reading Mantis. Her quirk made it possible for her to realize what was going on in her subject’s mind.
She used it to good effect over the course of the movie, even managing to strike up a wholesome conversation with Dave Bautista’s Drax the Destroyer. But that isn’t the only quirk that makes her lovable.
Pom Klementieff’s Special ‘Thanks’
What stands out about Mantis is her crooked (and yet refreshing) sense of humor, a trait traceable to other characters as well. And credit must be given to Gunn for taking the character in the right direction. Pom Klementieff is no stranger to the 57-year-old’s role. And she came up with a ridiculous way to thank him and her co-stars.
In Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3, the 37-year-old had a scene where she had to blast the most odd “Hello” in Peter Quill’s ear. And she seems to have picked up the habit.
Helloooo!!! (with the intentions of…)
Pom Klementieff revealed how she had begun to torment everyone around her with the trademark Mantis “Hello”. She said,
“When I came to set, I was always saying ‘Hello’. Because in the movie, that’s what I do in one of the scenes. So after the scene, I did that every day coming to set. And I actually I do that all the time now.”
Chances are if you’re in a serious conversation with her, you are bound to get ‘hello-ed’ sooner rather than later. The Loup star makes it a point to torment everyone, even sending the occasional ‘Hello’ voice note to James.
Looks like she is hellbent on keeping this one alive.
