“Please don’t let it be him again”: Toy Story 5 Announcement Makes Fans Demand Marvel Star Chris Evans to Replace Tim Allen After Flashing Pamela Anderson

The beloved Toy Story franchise is getting yet another addition to it. Disney officially confirmed that Toy Story 5 is in development. After four movies and a spin-off, the franchise is headed to “infinity and beyond.” While actor Tim Allen is the original voice of Buzz Lightyear, Chris Evans also lends his voice to the iconic character in the spin-off.

Fans are in a bit of a dilemma about whether Allen should voice the character or not. This is because the actor has been accused by actress Pamela Anderson of flashing her on the sets of Home Improvement. While Tim Allen has denied these claims, some fans do not want him to return to play Buzz Lightyear and want Chris Evans instead.

While Chris Evans voiced Buzz Lightyear in the spin-off movie, Lightyear, Tim Allen has played the role in all four original movies. So why are some fans calling for Evans to take the place of Allen? Pamela Anderson’s accusations against the Last Man Standing actor might have something to do with that.

In her recently released memoir titled Love, Pamela, the actress opened up about her time working on the set of Home Improvement alongside Allen, who played Tim Taylor. Anderson accused the actor of flashing her on the first day of her shoot, back in 1991. While Allen was 37 at that time, Anderson was a lot younger, 23 to be precise. In her memoir, Anderson wrote,

“On the first day of filmingI walked out of my dressing room and Tim was in the hallway in his robe. He opened his robe and flashed me quickly – completely naked underneath. He said that it was only fair because he had seen me naked. Now, we’re even. I laughed uncomfortably.”

Allen responded to the claims through his representative who gave the actor’s statement to EW. The statement read, “No, it never happened. I would never do such a thing.” Anderson hit back at Allen’s response and stated that he had to deny it because of “the times we’re in.”

However, she did defend the actor, as well. Sending a note to Variety, Anderson stated that Allen was a comedian and that it was his job to cross the line. She added, “I am sure he had no bad intentions.” While it looks like Anderson just had the intention of sharing facts through her memoir and nothing else, fans of the entertainment industry weren’t gonna let it slide. And they definitely didn’t as they are now asking for the removal of Allen’s Lightyear from Toy Story 5.

Despite Lightyear not performing well at the box office as compared to the original four movies, some fans are quite okay with Evans taking on Toy Story 5. However, we wonder how that would play out and if that’s the right direction for the franchise

Tim Allen gets Accused of Racism

After a 2019 interview with Xilla Valentine alongside Tom Hanks, who plays Woody in the Toy Story franchise, Allen found himself in a situation. When Valentine asked Hanks about his “knowledge of black culture,” the actor has a full-blown discussion about the card game Spades. Allen’s only contribution to the discussion was stating that he had no idea about what the two were talking about.

This led to Twitter digging up Allen’s 2013 interview with Tampa Bay Times where he talked about how he should be able to say the n-word if he had no ill intent behind it.

“If I have no intent, if I show no intent, if I clearly am not a racist, then how can n**** be bad coming out of my mouth?”

So while Allen finds himself in shark waters with the fans, will the predicament he is in be enough for him to no longer be a part of the iconic franchise? We have our doubts about that. Allen did take some time out to post a tweet stating, “See you soon Woody…..off we go to a number 5!..”

While there are no official updates regarding the cast of the fifth installment, Allen definitely has a higher chance of reprising his Buzz Lightyear role, over Evans. An official confirmation about the cast should be out soon. However, it has only been a moment since the announcement was made about Toy Story 5, so a release date is out of the question for now.

The Toy Story franchise is available to stream on Disney+.
