A petition from a very angry PlayStation fan to make the upcoming Space RPG Starfield a PS5 exclusive has exceeded 2000 signatures. Although this could easily be a troll or practical joke the bizarre petition has been getting an increasing amount of attention on social media. But is it a serious petition?
With Starfield being one of the biggest Microsoft exclusives to be released this year, it is no wonder that some PlayStation fans are annoyed to miss out on what could be a generation-defining game. There is an incredible amount of hype behind Bethesda’s newest IP, which if delivered may cement Starfield in the company’s hall of fame alongside Skyrim and Fallout 3.
Fight The Power: What Does this Starfield Petition Plan To Achieve?
The petition states that:
“We need to go out and protest at GameStops and Walmarts on Starfield’s release date. We need to submit legislation to our local representatives to FORCE Microsoft to comply. We need to go out in mass and stop people from buying copies in launch date. Even better go online and report every video you see praising Starfield until we make it exclusive for us and ONLY us.”
Spelling errors aside, this petition is currently sitting at 2,282 signatures and is climbing to its goal of 2,500. In terms of the validity of this petition, the general reactions indicate that most people are signing this in order to criticise the original poster. Looking at the comments there are gems such as “I’m signing because I want to leave a comment telling you that you’re pathetic and need to get a life!” and “Good luck with your delusional fantasy world. Let me know how that works out for you.”

Honestly, there is almost no chance that Starfield will not be coming to PS5 anytime soon. The only possibility that could lead to the Xbox exclusive appearing on a PlayStation console is a port later on from the game’s initial release. With Starfield being a cornerstone title in Microsoft’s plans for the Xbox Series X and Xbox Game Pass it looks like you’ll be needing to shell out for an Xbox Console or PC in order to play space-age RPG.
