2023 has already been a good year for gamers with several new major titles having been released so far, including the recent Bethesda masterpiece, Starfield. There is still a whole lot to look forward to in the remainder of the year, starting with tonight’s two big live streams. State of Play and Nintendo Direct will both be giving fans and gamers a glimpse at the upcoming titles, hardware news, and what’s next in the platforms next year.
A lot of announcements and extended looks at games are expected during the State of Play stream and more about the Switch Fall lineup is expected during the Nintendo Direct. More about the two major streams are discussed below.

State of Play Streams Tomorrow, Will Focus on Upcoming Games and Third-party Releases
Taking the spotlight away from Starfield and Xbox, gamers are expected to be glued to PlayStation’s State of Play stream tonight. State of Play will be streamed on YouTube, Twitch and TikTok live tonight, focusing on a list of much-anticipated titles coming this year and next. The official announcement blog page also mentions that the show will have “something for everyone” as there will be third-party releases discussed in the stream along with some indie games as well as titles coming to PS VR2, so there might not be any more big reveals.
State of Play broadcast will begin streaming later today, September 14, at 2 p.m. Pacific Time which is just a few hours after the Nintendo Direct stream, which is scheduled for an early morning 7 a.m. Pacific Time stream.

Nintendo Direct Might Give Gamers an Idea of Third-Party Releases to be Revealed in State of Play
Nintendo Direct will be broadcast early morning at 7 a.m. Pacific Time for a 40-minute stream where the Fall lineup of Switch games are all expected to be showcased. The official description on Nintendo.com reads:
“Tune in for a Nintendo Direct livestream featuring roughly 40 minutes for information focused on Nintendo Switch games releasing this winter.”
Nintendo has a strong Fall lineup with games like Super Mario RPG’s remake, WarioWare: Move It!, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Detective Pikachu Returns, and Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince, and they should all get some updates during the stream. Batman Arkham Trilogy was recently ported to Switch consoles and the game is just a month away from release, on the 13th of October. There’s expected to be a glimpse at the gameplay from all three games included in the trilogy.
Since PlayStation’s State of Play is announced to feature third-party releases, there might be a glimpse at third-party games in the Nintendo Direct stream as well.

PlayStation Portal Demos Also Expected To Be Showcased over State of Play Stream
Fans should also expect a bunch of games being played on the newly announced PlayStation Portal, which is coming out this Fall, on the 15th of November. There is no official word on the Portal being showcased in the stream but seems the perfect place for some of the major exclusives to be streamed live on the new Portal device from PlayStation. PlayStation Portal requires a PlayStation 5 console to have games streamed live to the handheld device that resembles a Switch.
Demos showcasing upcoming exclusives and third-party releases on the Portal might just be perfect to showcase both the games and the Portal’s capabilities. The next few days will be packed with more news from both streams with more details about upcoming games from both studios and what to expect from games coming out through the remainder of the year.
