Named amongst 2021’s Best Lawyers in America, in a crisp pantsuit and tidy stiletto heels, Camille Vasquez, 37, a member of Johnny Depp’s crack legal team, is rapidly becoming a bona fide star of the final week of the defamation trial between Heard and her ex-husband following a ruthless cross-examination by the famous.
She is becoming the internet sensation for testifying against Amber Heard in the most sarcastic way possible. No doubt she is opening a new way to put forth all the lies Heard has ever framed. Johnny Depp is suing his ex-wife Amber Heard for $50 million after she wrote an op-ed claiming that she is a survivor of domestic violence.
“Performance of a lifetime” – Camille Vasquez
On Thursday (26 May), Heard returned to the witness stand in the highly publicized defamation trial between herself and ex-husband Depp. Camille Vasquez accused Heard of “sobbing without tears” throughout her testimony throughout the trial during closing statements on Friday (27 May). Vasquez addressed the jurors: “We told you that this would be a performance. The role of her life as a heroic survivor of brutal abuse. When Mr. Depp brought this case for defamation, Ms. Heard went all in. She spun a story of shocking, overwhelming, brutal abuse. She came into this courtroom prepared to give the performance of her life and she gave it.”
Depp’s lawyer then referred to prior evidence from Heard’s acting coach, Kristina Sexton, who said that Heard had trouble crying when acting. Sexton claimed that 80 to 90% of their sessions in the last year of Heard’s marriage to Depp “began with [Heard] crying” when testifying on Wednesday (18 March). “Ironically, she has a little difficulty crying acting-wise,” Sexton remarked, adding that she could tell Heard’s emotions were genuine. “You saw it, Ms. Heard sobbing without tears while spinning elaborate exaggerated fantastical accounts of abuse. It was a performance,” Vasquez said, referring to Sexton’s statements.
