“Peak Tom Cruise”: ‘Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One’ Tracking to Earn $35M More Than ‘The Flash’ Opening Weekend Collection

‘Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One’ Tracking to Earn $35M More Than ‘The Flash’ Opening Weekend Collection

With Tom Cruise’s star power to keep the box office sated, films and movies looking to advance their profits can sit back for now and watch Mission: Impossible dismantling all the set records one by one. That is until Christopher Nolan and Greta Gerwig take over the theatre screens a week after. For now, however, it is the Man Without Fear (and yes, for the comic nerds, Cruise is a daredevil too) that tracks to decimate the latest DC franchise blockbuster, The Flash, which opened in theatres on 16th June 2023.

Tom Cruise Tracks To Earn More The Flash With MI7

With the penultimate Mission: Impossible film aka Dead Reckoning Part One now upon us, it becomes the franchise loyalists’ duty to make Tom Cruise’s final adieu a phenomenon to remember. After 27 years of journey, Cruise finally steps into his last adventure as the superspy which takes place across two films with Dead Reckoning Part Two being the final outing of Ethan Hunt and his ragtag yet super-skilled crew. The film, which has been marked as the most expensive Mission: Impossible film to date is currently projected to earn over $90 million in its domestic opening weekend.

On the other hand, the penultimate DCEU film, The Flash which held high hopes for the Warner Bros. higher-uppers David Zaslav and James Gunn earned $25 million less than its projected box office earning of $70 million domestically. In the international market, the Ezra Miller film did rake in approximately $75 million, however, totaling the global amount up to nearly $130 million.

If Cruise’s Mission: Impossible does haul in $90+ million at the domestic opening weekend, it will make $35 million more than The Flash, despite the movie’s star power comprising Michael Keaton, Michael Shannon (and *spoiler alert* George Clooney along with every Batman and Superman actors from live-action to have ever existed in DC).
