Whether it is Marvel or Fortnite, crossovers are something that every watcher loves, and sometimes the mere existence of something in their favorite universe is enough for the fans. However, things are a little different when it comes to the anime and manga industry, as one can observe, it is a rare sight to find a legitimate crossover or something similar in this form of entertainment.
Interestingly, while there may not be much of a crossover in the animated industry, there is this one single man who has made it his mission to keep teasing the viewers with something intriguing all the time.

One Piece Creator Confirms Existence Of Dragon Ball In
The Series
The individual we are talking about is none other than Eiichiro Oda himself, creator of One Piece, the best-selling manga ever in history. It is no doubt that it was Oda’s genius mind that made what the franchise is today. One fine example of the same would be earlier this year when he was asked about the same in the Shitsumon o Boshuu Sur (SBS) section of his manga. This section is particularly dedicated to readers sending in their questions to be answered by none other than the creator himself.
Upon being questioned in SBS of Chapter 1041 if the manga is something that exists in the world of One Piece, the creator replied that something of picture books and illustrated stories does exist in the series. In fact, as done in the manga, the story is told through text and dialogue in a frame.
He also revealed the names of some of the manga that exists in the One Piece world, but one name which caught the reader’s attention was “Monkey Ball”, which is referring to its real-world counterpart, Dragon Ball, one of his rival manga.

One Piece Rivalry With Dragon Ball
Both of the series have been majorly successful, with both of them being big names in the industry. Dragon Ball in particular is considered as one of the legacy franchises as it still manages to stay relevant even after a few decades of its first release.
The series created by Akira Toriyama is one of the main rivals of Oda’s One Piece. With each having their own huge fanbase, they often troll each other on platforms like Twitter and Instagram.
It is also pretty hard to determine which of the series has managed to earn more since their release, due to the longevity of both shows. However, one rough estimate puts One Piece at just over $20 Billion, which is a huge amount of money but falls short of the nearly $30 Billion estimated value of Dragon Ball.
It should also be noted that Dragon Ball had been a running series way before One Piece ever came into existence, giving it a huge advantage in terms of popularity and earning, nonetheless, it is still impressive how One Piece managed to catch up in no time and became the best-selling manga series ever.
