Electronic Arts recently released a statement about shutting down the servers of a fan-favorite game. The gaming community wanted to know which game are they talking about. They were quite surprised to hear that it was Crysis 3. Crysis 3 will have its server shut down after several glorious years.

Electronic Arts shut down the Online Servers of Crysis 3. They had planned it long ago but completed the deed on 7 September 2023. The server shutdown details were first revealed on EA’s Online Services Shutdown support page. PureXbox first spotted this detail. Crysis 3 was released back in 2013. It ran for 10 glorious years before it finally saw its end.

EA tried every method to bring back Crysis to its glorious days. They even launched a remastered version of Crysis, Crysis 2, and Crysis 3 in 2021. But it was all for nothing. The new generation of gamers wanted multiplayer features, but Crysis did not have one, so there was not much uproar surrounding the game. Not only Crysis but other video games, like Dante’s Inferno and Dead Space 2, also had their servers shut down.

Crysis 3 was released on 19 February 2013. It was developed by Electronic Arts and Crytek and powered by CryEngine3. Crysis 3 was considered to be way ahead of its time. It required 17 GB of storage space and was a high-graphics game. Low specs PC could not support the game. The system would turn into a blazing ball of fire. The game went ahead and beyond every gaming rig.

CryEngine was a no-nonsense engine. They made the video game with such high graphics to promote themselves. Initially, it was planned to launch for PC, but later was changed and released for consoles. Apart from pushing the limitations of the gaming rigs, it can still compete with today’s video games.
