But that’s not all that the actor has contributed to the entertainment industry. Apart from his exceptional contributions, Fraser also inspired Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe to take the leap and star in The Lost City with Sandra Bullock besides encouraging Barbie star Margot Robbie to become an actress.

Renowned best for playing the boy who lived, Daniel Radcliffe recently appeared in the superhit The Lost City, playing the role of Abigail Fairfax, a spoiled, violent, sociopathic, yet hilarious billionaire. But what’s more interesting than his character is the reason why he agreed to do it.

Revealing in an interview how it was Brendan Fraser who inspired him to star in the movie, the Harry Potter star said,

“I read the script! I got sent the script around March last year, and they started shooting in June or July. I have a vague blanket rule — make the films you would want to see. I read this, and I had recently watched the first ‘The Mummy’ movie again. We had a moment watching that going, ‘Oh, there are no films like this anymore! It’s sad.’ And then I read this, and I was like, ‘Oh, this is one of them.'”

Another reason was knowing that Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum would be starring in the lead roles in the movie.

“When I was reading it, I knew that Sandra and Channing Tatum were the leads, and I was just reading it thinking, ‘I want to see this. I want to see them play these parts and do these scenes, and if I get to be in it and be a part of it, then even better.'”

Just like that, without knowing it, Fraser ended up inspiring the 34-years-young star to take a wild ride with the A-listers in the $192 million blockbuster, created on a budget of a mere $68 million.

Apart from her most recent superhit Barbie, Margot Robbie has also starred in several other remarkable big-screen productions. But had it not been for Brendan Fraser, Hollywood would’ve never had a talent like the Harley Quinn portrayer. Sharing what motivated her to get into the career of acting, the Barbie star said,

“I would love to say: Hiroshima mon amour, In the Realm of the Senses or 2001: A Space Odyssey, but that’s not the case! The first film that got me interested in this business was George of the Jungle with Brendan Fraser. Don’t ask me why but I loved that film,” Robbie said.

Regardless, Brendan Fraser‘s contribution to the entertainment industry is indeed huge, considering all the young talent he brought into Hollywood.

You can watch The Lost City on Prime Video.
