The mysterious symbol shown during the Spider-Man 2 showcase has got fans thrilled!

Spider-Man 2 is all set for an October release, and fans have already been feasted to two antagonists coming to the game, Venom and Kraven the Hunter. While these two hard-hitting foes have already got the fans impatient to play the game, a mysterious symbol shown during the State of Play stream yesterday has got fans absolutely buzzing. While showcasing the activities available for the two web-slinging heroes in the game, a mysterious symbol, as shown above, was showcased and fans were quick to come up with their theories.

The green, smoky symbol was very similar to the ones used by Marvel’s Mysterio. Mysterio’s symbol has always been a triangle, featuring an eye in between most of the time. While the symbol shown during Spider-Man 2 wasn’t an accurate representation of what’s usually seen with Mysterio, it was still quite similar and that led to fans getting quite excited about the prospect of seeing the Marvel supervillain appearing in the upcoming game.

Jake Gyllenhaal was last seen playing the infamous character of Quentin Beck and the supervillain, Mysterio, in the 2019 movie Marvel’s Spider-Man: Far From Home. In the movie, Mysterio was seen using very similar symbols too, as seen in the screengrab above. After the State of Play reveal, one of the fans posted about it on Reddit, inviting others to join in with their theories, and there were some fantastic ones.

Spider-Man 2 brings both versions of the friendly, neighborhood wall-crawlers together, fighting their foes side-by-side. There were a lot of features shown off, and one of the most notable features included an instant character switch. Gamers will be able to switch between the two characters instantly, in a way that was seen in other games like GTA 5 where gamers were able to switch between three main characters.

Peter Parker and Miles Morales will have their own set of activities as well. It was said that either superheroes could be called up for a rescue job or there might be specific requests as well, depending on the neighborhood. The game is also said to feature 65 suits for the two Spideys, inspired by movies, comics, and several original designs as well.

The all-new seat-style system in the game will allow gamers to suit up in more than 200 different ways. Web-wings will allow the two heroes to swing by New York City faster than ever before, adding to the famous web-swinging. A new AR Tech will allow both heroes to quickly view all activities to check what’s completed and what’s yet to be explored. The fast-travel system is also improved upon from the previous two games, highly reducing the waiting time to jump into a different location.

How excited are you to play the upcoming sequel to the 2018 PlayStation exclusive? Apart from Kraven and Venom, who else would you like to see in the game? Let us know in the comments!
