The English actor Daniel Radcliffe gained worldwide recognition as the leading star of the fantasy adventure franchise Harry Potter. Following the wizarding world of J.K. Rowling’s book series, the franchise starred him alongside an ensemble cast including Emma Watson and Rupert Grint. While the studio is planning to move ahead with a reboot series, fans of the franchise continue to embrace Radcliffe, Watson, and Grint as the Golden Trio.
However, not everything about the fame and fan following was joyous for the cast. The star of the series opened up about a fan encounter that left him horrified during his appearance on Head to Shrunken Head.
Daniel Radcliffe Recalled the Weirdest Fan Encounter
While promoting the third installment of the fantasy adventure series Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Daniel Radcliffe was asked about the most ridiculous thing a fan has ever said to him. And the actor had multiple things to name, but one of the fans’ interactions stood out.
The English actor, who was about 15 at the time, shared during the interview that he had received marriage proposals from fans, saying, “Dan Marry me.” However, he had another “bizarre” fan encounter, whom he described as “The Towel Girl” before calling that fan a “legend.”
The Lost City actor shared that he was filming for MTV in New York on a “freezing cold day.” However, he was surprised to see a fan standing in nothing but a Harry Potter towel with a sign that said, “Nothing comes between me and Harry Potter.”
The actor said that although it was weird, he also found it “great” at the same time. “The Towel Girl” surely left a remarkable impression on the actor, as he recalled the same, saying, “She was just really cool,” during an appearance on Late Show with David Letterman.
Daniel Radcliffe Talks About Harry Potter Reboot
Earlier this year, Warner Bros. announced a Harry Potter reboot TV series following J.K. Rowling’s book series. Each season of the series will be based on every Harry Potter book, and the studio will introduce a new cast in the reboot TV series.
When the Harry Potter star was asked about the possibility of appearing on the series during an interview with Comicbook, he said that he is “not seeking” any possible ways to return to the series. He said, “My understanding is that they’re trying to very much start fresh, and I’m sure whoever is making them will want to make their own mark on it” instead of figuring out ways for his cameo. He said that he wishes the best to the makers and everyone attached to the reboot and is excited to “have that torch passed.”
The Harry Potter franchise is available on Max.
