Actor Andrew Garfield is best known for his role as Peter Parker in The Amazing Spider-Man series. Having to succeed Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man franchise, which is regarded as a cult masterpiece, was stressful for Garfield when he was cast for the reboot.
Following Tobey Maguire’s time as the web-slinger in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man Trilogy (2002-2007), Garfield played the dual role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the 2012 film The Amazing Spider-Man and its 2014 sequel The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
Andrew Garfield Cameo-d in Spider-Man: No Way Home with his Original Spider-Man suit
Andrew Garfield put on the Spider-Man outfit again for Spider-Man: No Way Home after seven years. According to Andrew Garfield, he wore the same Spider-Man costume in Spider-Man: No Way Home as he did in his The Amazing Spider-Man movies.
Garfield responded to Josh Horowitz in the Happy Sad Confused podcast when questioned about donning his original outfit, he joked, “Yeah. I still fit, bruh.” He then went on to explain, “No, I had to get in shape.”
“I had to work on it with my trainer. I was very nervous about that. I was very nervous. I was like, no one wants to see an old, fat guy in a Spider-Man costume.”
The Spider-Man costume has always been made of a “spandex-like” material that tightly hugs the body of the person wearing it, which can be uncomfortable and irritating.

Andrew Garfield Felt He Was Too Old to be Seen in a Tight-fitting Costume
He had to put on the Spider-Man outfit again for his unforeseen comeback in Spider-Man: No Way Home and expressed that he felt too old to be seen in a tight-fitting costume.
During an interview on The Graham Norton Show, the actor stated:
“It was a stupid thing to do and a really scary thing to attempt especially in the costume – a 38-year-old should not be in Spandex! I’m far too old to be playing Spider-Man but they asked me back, which was the sweetest thing ever.”
Despite his initial fear, Garfield seemed to ease himself back into his role. The actor has been very outspoken about how much he appreciates the chance and is even open to future collaborations with Tom Holland and Tobey Maguire.
