Power Slap is growing its popularity and fanbase. Ultimate Fighting Championship president Dana White owned the American slap-fighting promotion company attracting mainstream attraction of media and fans alike.
Obviously, the Power Slap Championship is a new and unique idea and it has been racing toward the likes of the giant wrestling championships. Several celebrities also got involved in the championship league, as White revealed action and bodybuilding god Arnold Schwarzenegger and YouTube fame and WWE superstar Logan Paul have joined the club.
Arnold Schwarzenegger and Logan Paul Joined the Club
Bringing Arnold Schwarzenegger and Logan Paul was a big deal, it was meant to elevate the viewership and popularity of the show. And as Dana White claimed, it did. Hollywood icon Schwarzenegger and WWE superstar Paul hosted a live Slap Fighting Championship in Columbus, Ohio, on March 5. The league has been under criticism since its inception in 2022 but when Schwarzenegger and Paul partnered to host the event, there was no such criticism despite being the event unregulated and unscripted.
“Logan Paul and Arnold Schwarzenegger had a slap event, unregulated, no medicals, no nothing right… Nobody said boo. There wasn’t one story written. We do the right things, we go for approval, we test, we invest millions of dollars in it. We make it safe and everybody is outraged.”
The event, as claimed by the UFC president, was successful and it did attract a vast viewership. The media is also responsible for popularizing the event and White made sure to take a moment to appreciate their contribution to make the league as popular it is today.
A Rising Sport, Dana White Gets Defensive of the League
The popularity of Power Slap is growing but also invited a lot of criticism and public disapproval. Power Salp boss White, however, believes in his venture and defended the League in a press conference addressing the sport, the company, and the popularity of the game.
“I’ll tell you what, the numbers don’t lie. We have over a billion views on social media. Just on TikTok alone, we are at almost a billion. Instagram is doing 38.5 million views a week. Rumble had the right to this internationally and just the international show is at around 15 million views.”
Of course, those are big numbers and his argument is well justified but the game’s sustainability was a question mark following the launch of All Elite Wrestling (AEW). A rumor surfaced stating that White will be forced to discontinue his venture but Dana has shown to be far from it. In fact, he revealed that as per as the viewership numbers of Power Slap League are concerned, the League is on the same level as the National Basketball Association (NBA). The League is growing rapidly and it has a chance to be in line with the most significant global sports events shortly.
