An Insider explained the duo’s secretive friendship bloomed following their failed marriages, and even though they don’t hang out much together public, they’ve still got each other’s back.
“They shared a very unique experience,” the insider stated. “Nicole knew firsthand how difficult it was to walk away from Tom and the stress that comes with being married to such a huge star… She would tell her that everything was going to be OK and congratulated her on taking such a brave step.”
Despite once founding herself caught between a rock and a hard place, support from Kidman in these times did alleviate her struggles at the time, eventually overcoming her scars from the divorce.

Reflecting on the tumultuous times of 2012, when Katie Holmes relocated to New York, beginning her life as a single mother, the actress obliquely acknowledged Kidman’s friendship. Without spilling out any names, she did express that strangers’ kindness at the time helped her overcome the adverse period of her life.
That time was intense. It was a lot of attention, and I had a little child on top of it. We had some funny moments out and about in public. So many people I didn’t know became my friends and helped us out, and that’s what I love about the city.” Holmes explained.
