There has been a lot of speculation around GTA6 since Rockstar announced they were working on it. There are many theories about which locations will be used and who the title characters will be. Rockstar hasn’t confirmed anything at this point, but that hasn’t stopped fans from extrapolating any information they can from leaked data.
Case in point, one piece of footage looks like we may be getting a physics upgrade in the form of real big wave surfing. And even better yet, it looks like a fan favorite weapon, missing for over fourteen years, might be making a comeback. Get ready for the chainsaw.
GTA6 is on the Horizon
According to leaked footage, GTA6 will have advanced water physics leading to possible surfing.
Surfing would certainly make sense if the rumors are true that GTA6 will be mainly located in Vice City. How they pull off real time water physics will be a task, but one fans have been waiting for.
According to leaked footage by Dezzmon on YouTube, GTA6 will have advanced water physics using Nvidia Waveworks 1.0 and Waveworks 2.0. He goes on to say Rockstar San Diego is hiring twenty engineers for the sole purpose of revamping water physics.

According to another report, from gaming website Gamerficial, rumors of GTA6 surfing are true. “One particular rumor making waves is the inclusion of a groundbreaking feature: surfing.” The website goes on to say, “if implemented, players would have the thrilling opportunity to take to the waters of the fictionalized Vice City and ride the waves.”
Oddly, the chainsaw has been missing from the series since Grand Theft Auto 3: San Andreas. A fun, heavy, hard to use weapon best paired with a ski mask or horror mask. So, the information we have right now is a leak from a Grand Theft Auto VI developer out of Rockstar India. He seemingly shared details, on a since deleted LinkedIn post, claiming they made some assets for the game. The assets included “interior prop labels” for examples of a fire extinguisher, a chainsaw, an electric board, a boat motor and a car engine.

Though this does imply the chainsaw will be returning to GTA6, it may not be exactly how we expected it to. If you can interact with everything in the environment, this would be very innovative. Let us just hope it is not sitting on a table or shelf in the background.
The announcement that Grand Theft Auto VI was in production was back in February 4 of 2022, via Tweet. No further details have been officially released by Rockstar Games.
